1.Not compatible with the original car is ID6 interface models;
2.If your car is a 2012 and 2013 model, please check that the LVDS cable on the back of the screen is 4PIN or 6PIN, 4PIN is the CIC system, and 6PIN is the NBT system;
3.Please make sure your car has AUX function. The Android head unit outputs sound through AUX.
While the unit (CarPlay/Android-auto Head unit) is inactive, the original video signal is passed unchanged and your car works as before.
After activating the CarPlay/Android-auto Head unit, the CarPlay/Android-auto unit video signal is shown on the display instead.
When you reverse the car while using the CarPlay/Android-auto system, the system will automatically switch to the camera without manual operation.
You can easily switch back and forth between the CarPlay/Android-auto and your original head unit. (TIPS: Press and hold the “Menu” key to switch the system)
Compatible with all functions of the original car system (most of the steering wheel control functions, original car Idrive knob, original parking sensors, original Car Optic fiber system and so on)
Using the CarPlay/Android-auto Head unit is optional and should be seen as an add-on and not as a replacement.

Bought this recently for my cic 2011 bmw. Installation directions are really bad. There’s a YouTube link and the guy goes so fast it’s not even the same unit…. No clear focus on how they got all the connections. Zero mention of swapping out fiber optic cable. The only reason I gave it 1 star is because after all the research I was only able to make a call using android. All the points below on why this is not 4/5 star:
1. No instruction manual
2. No instructions on tools needed
3. Instructional Video and pictures show different units and do not slow down
4. No person to chat/talk to.
Had to reach out to fb user group to figure out the green optical wire had to be switched out. That’s when I got the screen to fire up and show CarPlay options.
I understand this is cheaper but does not mean zero customer support on diy.

I have been using this unit every day for the past two months. It has a small little glitch when switching between the OEM and Carplay units but, it just shows that the first time you switch between the units, and then it goes away, nothing too crazy. If you are looking just for a new head unit that is a touch screen, has car play and android auto, and you don't need the extra features of an android screen this unit is perfect for you. Also, even if you get the Android screen I find that you still need to connect your phone to the system as a hotspot, so you might as well just get a head unit with just car play and android auto and use the features from those operating systems as it's easier to you and for anyone else who wants to use your new system. Overall, a great unit with a very minor problem as mentioned before, definitely worth the price and installment not having to use a mmi box as it's easier to install with fewer wires.
Got the unit in Canada 2 weeks after ordering. I got the 10.5” touchscreen that includes CarPlay.
Installation was easy except for a mistake on my part and one due to lack of instructions that made me redo things. My backup camera didn’t come on when I put car in reverse. I thought it was because I didn’t plug in a cable properly so I disassembled everything again. Everything was fine so I went online to figure out the issue. It was just a setting in the software that you have to choose “original” for camera. Once I did that it works well.
The only negative which I was aware of prior to ordering is that the screen is very reflective. The position of the screen makes you see the sunroof light very brightly. If I close the sunroof, it’s fine. I’ll see how much this bothers me and if it continues to then I’ll place an screen protector over it as others have.
All the functions seem to work very well and even switches to CarPlay screen automatically which I had heard was a complaint by many others that it didn’t do. It would’ve been to have a functionality to choose between multiple users that are in the car at the same time.
I recommend this product and the seller.
Finally arrive I installed today and i love it so far. Time will tell if is good or not
